David Aceves 8/20/2021 1:40 PMWell. Glad it's coming to an end. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Go for a Daily WalkHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
David Aceves 8/20/2021 1:39 PMLife feels much slower walk as one of course would take longer to get to Point B. It's great in order to not feel as if life is just speeding by. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Practice Gratitude for EarthKathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How can we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?
David Aceves 8/20/2021 1:38 PMThe simple answer lies in having that inherent gratitude. By truly having it, the proof of it is in the reflection of developing convicting moral obligations. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Choose Two-Sided PrintingChoosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?
David Aceves 6/28/2021 1:38 AMI can help others out of influence. In my work, this would be a slight detail that others could perhaps begin to notice and pick up on it overtime. Regarding company wide, it's definitely not happening considering how much longer it takes for things to double-scan. In my case, I have to pull out the paper every time now. Perhaps there's a way to program it in excel but as of now it's tedious. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Whole Food LifestyleMichael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this assertion?
David Aceves 6/28/2021 1:37 AMI agree even though I've been, at least to this point of my life, fortunate to be healthy enough to not see a doctor recently. Growing up, while fast-food was present, it didn't match the awesome home meals we had at home. Evidently, it's so much better to eat at home (at least more than fast food). -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater 5-Minute ShowersName some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?
David Aceves 6/03/2021 7:27 PMLocally speaking, the health of water is impacted by how much we use it everyday and our responsibility on where we dispose our trash. Globally, there are sea vehicles and oil stations which affect the health of our great oceans. Considering my low level of influence, I can lead by example to my friends and family to not litter and take showers out of necessity and not mere pleasure. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
David Aceves 6/03/2021 7:24 PMIt helps me take care of our environment more because through gratitude, the value of my resources mean more to me. Hence, I want to take care of them more. -
David Aceves 5/27/2021 12:40 AMIt's going well considering that I gave myself realistic expectations that reflect my daily routine. My only issue has been to return to this dashboard and actually record what I did. I'm glad at least you can come back to previous dates. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Walk InsteadHalf of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Does this statistic describe your own transportation habits? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?
David Aceves 5/20/2021 11:08 PMThis one is hard for me because my lifestyle does consist of needing to drive. Like many, life would be extremely difficult without a car. But I can squeeze in some moments in which I don't need it (going to a shop for something small). -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity MeditateWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
David Aceves 5/20/2021 11:06 PMMy future. In other words, really come to think what is it exactly I wish to do in order to become a productive member of society.
