Sara's actions
Food
Weekly Meal Planning
I will reduce food waste and save money by planning a weekly menu, only buying the ingredients I need.
Transportation
Drive Less
I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips.
Food
Reduce Animal Products
I will enjoy 1 meatless meal(s) and/or 1 vegan meal(s) each day this week.
Waste
Prevent Recycling Contamination
Contamination prevents what is recyclable from being recycled. I will spend 10 minutes researching which materials are accepted by local haulers or drop stations in my community and recycle only those items.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Sara Arviso 9/21/2019 4:16 PMToday was really a challenge all together because someone noticed I was eating differently and saw that I have been using my reusable cup more. I told her my reasoning of trying to be sustainable and she was confused. She asked me what Is the point of doing something so little for a problem so big. It gave me an opportunity to share what I have learned In a friendly matter and allowed her to get some questions answered. She ended up being really supportive at the end which was cool! -

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Sara Arviso 9/11/2019 7:20 AMPeople in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places because they don't rely on the animal as much. They can easily buy another cow or pig while people in lower income areas, rely on that animal to help maintain crops, for eggs, milk etc. They cant easily go get another animal. The way we affect the planet buy eating meat is messing with the ecosystem. Every animal, even a rabbit has some sort of affect on the ecosystem so if we take that away at a large cost, we can majorly mess up the flow of energy.
