Damon's actions
Waste
Choose Two-Sided Printing
I will save up to .21 lbs (.09 kg) of paper per day by switching from one-sided printing to two-sided when I have to print documents.
Waste
Use a Reusable Mug
I will avoid sending 4 disposable cup(s) to the landfill each day by using a reusable mug.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
If at all possible, I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Waste
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Cheap, single-use items and disposable packaging end up blowing around as litter more often in poor and POC-majority neighborhoods. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.
Waste
Go Paperless
I will reduce the amount of paper mail that I receive by 0.11lbs (0.05kg) a day or 3.3lbs (1.6kg) a month by opting into paperless billing, ending unwanted subscriptions and opting out of junk mail.
Energy
Choose LED Bulbs
I will replace 12 incandescent lightbulb(s) with Energy Star-certified LED bulbs, saving up to $14 per fixture per year.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteChoosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?
Damon Barrigan 4/21/2020 9:09 AMTry to tell others that switching to two-sided printing can benefit them because one they save more paper and it is a very simple way of helping the planet. I feel most companies are using two-sided printing however there are companies that dont use it because of professional reasons. I believe that if we change a professional format to a more eco friendly format for reports, etc.
