Racheal's actions
Nature
Do Nature Activities
I will engage in nature-based activities alone, or with my friends or family, for 30 minute(s) each day. (This can be anything from going on a walk or hike, to noticing the leaves changing color, to reading a book with nature themes.)
Waste
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Cheap, single-use items and disposable packaging end up blowing around as litter more often in poor and POC-majority neighborhoods. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.
Health
Take Control
Both systemic and personal sustainability are important! I will develop a plan with my medical professionals to achieve my best health and live my life to the fullest.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Racheal Batten 10/26/2021 10:52 PMToday I walked to the story again, I actually enjoy being in the PNW rainy weather. I forgot to bring my cloth produce sacks that I keep trying to remember to grab, so it's dawned on me that I should just have a few permanently live in my backpack instead so that I CAN'T forget them anymore. It's also not one of the challenged I selected, but I did get pick out the ingredients to make a few vegan meals this week, too!-
Racheal Batten 10/26/2021 10:55 PMOoh, my sleepy brain evidenced in the typos on this one! lol

Racheal Batten 10/25/2021 7:06 PMFor my "Take Control" health challenge, I've been in contact with my endocrinologist and supplies distributor to get CGMs (continuous glucose monitoring system) aka sensors, covered by insurance and ordered, to help me control and micro-manage my glucose levels from my Type 1 diabetes better.
