I joined an outdoor project in participating in Alternative Break this spring break. I worked at Kiptopeke State Park in Virginia performing trail maintenance, fixing boardwalks, and building picnic tables. It was a great way to learn about the inner-workings of the state park system as well as the struggles that they experience in staffing and funding.

This week on alternative break, I was able to get outside everyday and spend time in nature and breathing fresh air. Being around nature and away from technology was a great way to get regrounded in what is important.
