As I prioritize the environment in my every day life, this challenge was already too easy!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Building Resilience Support Businesses Owned by People of Color
A recent Keen Independent Research Foundation study found that Minority Businesses Enterprises (MBEs) are more likely to have difficulties in receiving loans or city contracts. In what ways can you work to address systemic racism like that demonstrated in this study?

One of the many ways is simply providing support and bringing awareness to these issues. As many do not have to experience discrimination or not able to obtain certain resources, it is important to bring emphasize the importance of it.

I believe that the ecochallege is going well! I found that without this challenge, many do not often acknowledge the importance of taking care of our environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What did you learn about in the documentary you watched? How did it make you feel?

    Vanessa Casas Gonzalez's avatar
Vanessa Casas Gonzalez 4/14/2021 9:17 PM
As many other documentaries, this documentary discussed how humans are deteriorating the environment and all we do is make it worse. It made me feel sad because people do not recognize what their actions do and how it affects the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Why is voting important to creating a just, sustainable, and thriving world? In what other ways can you actively participate in important decision-making?

As some policies focus on ruining our environment, it is important to vote for those who value it as well. I can also bring awareness to these types of issues and ensure people are willing to help.

What is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?

Bringing awareness to the affects that our lack of care can have on the environment. I would start off by talking to my family, then go into larger groups.
