What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

I try to keep three reusable bags in my trunk and three more on a hook by my door in my apartment. When I bring up groceries, I hang the empty bags on the hook - so if there are more than than three in either location - I bring back the difference on my next trip. If I ever do need to take a disposable bag, I try to reuse it as much as possible. And limiting it to three bags helps me be more mindful of my purchases or what I am bringing to an event.

Yes it can and ultimately will - It will require market driven buy-in and clean energy solutions to shift away from monoculture and centralized farming.
