REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Healthy SleepConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
Max Chamorro 11/23/2021 8:28 AMI would say a get around 6-8 hours of sleep on average, getting at least 8 hours every night would be my goal it is sometimes challenging with a lot going on at school. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater 5-Minute ShowersName some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?
Max Chamorro 11/23/2021 8:22 AMIn my opinion the number one impact on all water systems is pollution whether your walking on the beach or fishing in a local lake there is always at least a few pieces of trash lying around. I think getting together a group of people to spend time cleaning beaches or locate water systems would be a good place to start. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
Max Chamorro 11/23/2021 8:18 AMMost of the time I find myself just carrying way to may things out of the store in my hands, trying to balance all the items on my way out of the store. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Turn it offHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Max Chamorro 11/23/2021 8:12 AMNear me energy is generated by means of a nuclear power plant. Which creates radioactive waste which can have a negative impact of the environment if there is a leak or meltdown. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Choose LED BulbsSwitching out your lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?
Max Chamorro 11/21/2021 2:49 PMThere are other ways to lower carbon emissions like carpooling with others places, walking, or even bike to destinations when possible. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Choose Two-Sided PrintingChoosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?
Max Chamorro 10/15/2021 7:24 AMBy making it the default printer setting because people can be lazy and will not switch to two sided printing. It can be encouraged in some companies but some would find it hard to do so. Like in the engineering field for example when printing out plans which can not be two sided documents but reports or other documents could be printed two sided. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Max Chamorro 10/15/2021 7:19 AMIt feels good to know that using a reusable cup has an impact even though it might be little I am still helping by doing my part in lower part of my impact on the planet. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Weekly Meal PlanningAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?
Max Chamorro 10/15/2021 7:17 AMTo be honest it does not surprise me that people throw away that much food a year. That money could go towards a months worth of rent or a car payment rather than in the trash. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Power Down the ComputerWhat are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?
Max Chamorro 10/15/2021 7:14 AMOther easy ways we can reduce our energy footprint is putting your phone on low power mode at all time and turning it off when you are not using it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Brush My Teeth Without Running WaterWhat is the main water source in your region? If you don't know, how could you find out?
Max Chamorro 10/07/2021 8:29 AMIn our region here at York I would say that York water is our main source of water in this region.
