"I want to try new things to reduce my ecological footprint during this Ecochallenge. It is a great way for me to start thinking about little changes I can make to help the environment. When the challenge is over, I can take what I learned and keep applying it to my daily habits. "

In my house back home, we just switched all our lightbulbs downstairs to more reusable ones. They are more environmental friendly and brighter.

    Waste Go Paperless
Reducing your paper mail can reduce mental clutter as well as physical waste -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?

It felt good to not recycle so many pieces of paper. It was also easier to keep track of everything once I went paperless. The next thing I want to do to reduce my waste is bring reusable shopping bags when I go grocery shopping. That is an easy fix to make and I know that I should be doing it to reduce the amount of plastic I use.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

The next step I will try to take is to convince my roommates to take shorter showers. Our water bill will be lower and as an apartment we can reduce our water footprint!
