REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Get Involved in the Water Justice MovementWho is affected by polluted water or a lack of access to water in your region? How are they affected?
Consuela Collaso 4/20/2020 6:25 PMI learned that agricultural crops and livestock is the main source of water pollution in Minnesota. It is important to note that water pollution affects all people and that we need to take the initiative to use less and know where our water is coming from, and ways to prevent the pollution. We are all effected and negligence of “if it is not directly happening to us, there is no problem.” will cause trouble for us. I learned to be more conscious of this. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Learn About Renewable EnergyWhat inspires you to act on sustainable energy and other energy issues?
Consuela Collaso 4/20/2020 4:11 PMI am inspired to learn about sustainable energy because it effects our communities and lives. It is important that we know how we can take a step to better our world starting with ourselves and not waiting for the next person.
I learned that China is leading the most sustainable energy sector and that America is second. Although, we have a lot to improve mass adaption is not easily done.
Some examples of energy sources are solar energy, wind energy and hydro energy. These types of energy sources are different from fossil fuels that can be more harmful. Although it may cost more, the effect will help us in the long run. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Limit Social MediaSocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also create echo chambers and take more time than we realize or intend to give. After completing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?
Consuela Collaso 4/20/2020 3:27 PMThere is absolutely nothing wrong technology but it is important that we let it go at times and not let consume us. I have started to do things that I love being all the time I have on my hands such as continuing to learn Arabic and read new books I never got to read. I do this by calling myself to account, holding a timer for 15-20 minutes and reading throughout that time and adding time each day. -
Consuela Collaso 4/20/2020 3:24 PMI started this to improve my consistency skills and learn while doing so! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Consuela Collaso 4/20/2020 11:06 AMGratitude is motivation in the sense that we can look at all the positives of a situation despite how negative it can be. In current day, we are currently dealing with the coronavirus. This pandemic has effected many people but I am thankful I have food, a roof over my head, and that none of my immediate family has been effected by the virus.
