Isabelle's actions

Waste

Skip the Straw

Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

I'm grateful my sister is alive, I'm grateful for my dog chili helping keep the family together, and I'm grateful for the coffeeshop barista who saw my er visitors pass and how crappy I looked and gave me a discount on the massive coffees I grabbed to help keep us all going

Today was rough, spent most of the day at the ER for my sister. Didn't pay attention to the eco challenge.

Today's challenge didn't go great- I had to stop somewhere for lunch and they only had plastic cups :(

Sometimes, when you are doing your best to make positive/good change, things don't always work out... That said, now you are more aware of this particular place's environmental shortcomings, and can create further action plans based on this experience.
      Best to you :)

Spent the day home sick again- my family went to the grocery store and mostly used reusable bags (what they couldn't use the cloth bags for they used the paper bags). All of us are going to bed early tonight to try and get that extra rest in before the week starts!

My entire household is home sick with fevers and some extreme version of the cold. Didn't leave the house much, but a friend dropped by with dinner in reusable containers!

Getting to work with April Ann and her Habitat Restoration Team today was a blast! I also managed to get out on a walk with my puppy, so I definitely got my fill of nature today!

Today was a bit rough for the challenge.  Having  spent most of today at the hospital for appointments means eating hospital food wrapped in plastic and driving a ton. Hopefully tomorrow will go better!

Went to the DMV this morning and I'm genuinely shocked at how much paper waste gets generated there! And they didn't have any clearly labeled recycling bins either! Why can't we have more options for e-forms or a shredder connected to a recycling bin for customers to use for their private documents?

Anyways, I'm slowly getting through these challenges, but it's somehow becoming harder???

Managed to turn down straws several times today! Now it's time to add an extra 30 minutes of sleep to my sleep schedule before a massive chemistry exam tomorrow (hopefully!)

I definitely added more than 30 minutes to my sleep schedule last night! Today we got takeout for lunch for my birthday so I ended up using a straw :( I'm grateful for my puppy Chili and his success in his training program, I'm grateful for my chem professor extending the date for our exam, and I'm grateful to my family for helping me celebrate my birth day!
