Miles's actions
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 3 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Waste
Compost Food Waste
I will avoid sending up to .69 lbs (.31 kg) of food waste to the landfill each day by composting my food or learning how to.
Energy
Choose Clean/Renewable Energy
I will sign up for my utility company's clean/renewable energy option.

Miles Dustin 10/28/2021 12:02 PMDid some cooking and made sure to compost all my food scraps, as well from the dishes I had to do after. Great way to end the ecochallenge strong, hopefully I can maintain these habits for the long run! -
Miles Dustin 10/26/2021 12:09 PMI got fast food a little too much these past couple of days, but at least I was skipping the straw! (And the plastic lid too!) -
Miles Dustin 10/23/2021 9:29 AMWent on a run today and brought myself a reusable water bottle that I filled twice. Two more plastic bottles down! -
Miles Dustin 10/21/2021 12:08 PMI did a lot of dishes this morning and took a solid portion of time to separate garbage out from any compost as well as recycling. Not the most fun thing, but everything takes some sacrifice! -
Miles Dustin 10/18/2021 5:36 PMI got food today (and yesterday) and told the cashier "NO STRAW PLEASE!" Look at me go, one piece of plastic at a time! -
Miles Dustin 10/16/2021 11:18 AMToday, I'm going to bring a reusable water bottle to work instead of buying a couple of beverages in plastic bottles from the convenience store before my shift. -
Miles Dustin 10/14/2021 12:00 PMDid some dishes and composted all the food waste! Yes! -
Miles Dustin 10/12/2021 12:24 PMSwitched my electric to the renewable energy option. It was so cheap too! I'm surprised I never heard about it till I looked through the ecochallenges. More people should sign up for it!
