  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Building Resilience Help Others
In your opinion, how do social inequalities diminish a strong sense of community?

    Analisa Follensbee 's avatar
    Analisa Follensbee 4/13/2021 6:12 PM
Social inequalities detract from building stong communities because it does not allow trust and strong relationships to be built.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Practice Loving-Kindness Meditation
How can practicing Loving-Kindness Meditation be helpful to the health of the environment?

    Analisa Follensbee 's avatar
    Analisa Follensbee 4/13/2021 6:11 PM
Meditation helps people live more mindful and fulfilling lives. It can boost people's energy and be healing allowing people to focus on other things, like being more environmentally conscious.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Prevent Recycling Contamination
What have you learned about what is accepted by local haulers for recycling, what you can drop off or ship to certain places, and what is not recyclable in your area? What is the most difficult part of recycling for you?

    Analisa Follensbee 's avatar
    Analisa Follensbee 4/09/2021 8:28 PM
The most difficult recycling for me is metal recycling. The city picks up the normal plastics, glass, paper, etc. but they don't pick up certain metals. There are places in Kenosha where you can recycle metal like PRC, Inc. Parise Recycling Center. In general, Kenosha doesn't allow you to recycle things like styrofoam, waxed or coated paper, and egg cartons.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Core Values
What are your top 3-5 core values? How did you narrow it down to those as being your core values?

    Analisa Follensbee 's avatar
    Analisa Follensbee 4/09/2021 8:18 PM
My core values are integrity, honesty, empathy, and equity
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

    Analisa Follensbee 's avatar
    Analisa Follensbee 3/28/2021 7:04 PM
Some barriers to using reusable bottles are lack of access to clean, safe water in public places. Not every private or public space has water fountains or bathrooms with sinks you can use.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Explore My Area
How might spending more time outdoors enhance your brainpower?

    Analisa Follensbee 's avatar
    Analisa Follensbee 3/28/2021 7:02 PM
spending time outside allows me to relax and center myself when I'm stressed out and feeling overwhelmed.

    Analisa Follensbee 's avatar
    Analisa Follensbee 3/28/2021 6:58 PM
It allows me to be a more positive person around others and show appreciation for others' work and actions.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Go Paperless
Reducing your paper mail can reduce mental clutter as well as physical waste -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?

    Analisa Follensbee 's avatar
    Analisa Follensbee 3/14/2021 7:06 PM
I don't usually get paper mail in general. Any time I can I sign-up for emails instead I do.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

    Analisa Follensbee 's avatar
    Analisa Follensbee 3/14/2021 6:56 PM
I usually don't drink things that need straws in general. If I do I either skip the straw and drink from the cup or try my best to use a reusable one.
