Kianna's actions
Food
Whole Food Lifestyle
I will enjoy 1 meal(s) each day free of processed foods.
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 3 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 15 minute(s) each day.
Health
Healthy Sleep
Effectively working for sustainability requires self care! I will commit to getting 60 more minute(s) of sleep each night to achieve at least 7 hours per night.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Skip the StrawHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Kianna Graves 11/25/2019 1:53 PMI try to re-purpose my belongings as much as I can before I either recycle them or throw them away. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Kianna Graves 11/25/2019 1:52 PMI try to spend less time on my devices by becoming involved on campus -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
Kianna Graves 11/20/2019 11:41 AMPlastic water bottles are more convenient, but the extra work put into using a reusable water bottle is worth the environmental benefits -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Kianna Graves 11/20/2019 11:39 AMPracticing gratitude makes a person more considerate and grateful for the privileges. Once a person practices gratitude, they will often return kindness to others. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Healthy SleepConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
Kianna Graves 11/20/2019 11:37 AMI often find myself sleeping less and less as the weeks go on. Courses are becoming very intense and I have to stay up later to make sure I get all of my work done. I hope that as the semester ends, I can incorporate more time to rest. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Whole Food LifestyleMichael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this assertion?
Kianna Graves 11/20/2019 11:34 AMI fully agree with this. Our farmers are under paid considering the fact that they deal with an intensive amount of labor. Our farmers also produce a lot of food for a lot of people, and work just as hard as doctors.
