-
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Limit Social MediaSocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also create echo chambers and take more time than we realize or intend to give. After completing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?
Taylor Hamm 4/05/2022 5:15 PMI feel less desire to go onto social media for long amounts of time. I have seen an increase in desire to do other things such as go outside, workout, and spend time with family and friends in person. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Volunteer in my CommunityWhat is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?
Taylor Hamm 3/26/2022 8:33 PMContinue to talk about how being sustainable and cautious of the daily tasks we do and daily things we use can be helpful or harmful to the environment. Have conversations to help others understand the importance of climate change and being sustainable. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Taylor Hamm 3/17/2022 9:06 PMWriting down everyday the things that make me happy or small things that brightened my day help me stay motivated to continue to do the things that make me happy and also maybe doing something for someone else that might give them some joy!
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Explore My AreaHow might spending more time outdoors enhance your brainpower?
Taylor Hamm 3/09/2022 3:24 PMpersonally, being in nature allows me to be more relaxed and boosts my serotonin levels. I think it gives time for the brain to feel empowered through being within nature and can learn more about nature. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
Taylor Hamm 2/16/2022 2:33 PMSome barriers of having a reusable water bottle is having to wash the bottle frequently and refilling the bottle as well. The easier option that plastic water bottles have is being able to just grab and go. Using reusable water bottles personally is a lot easier and allows me to be creative and fun with the types of bottles I use. I make this a permanent habit in my own life by always having a bottle available and they keep the water colder for longer making reusable bottles a better option! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Skip the StrawHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Taylor Hamm 2/16/2022 2:26 PMWith using limiting the use of plastic straws as an example, I have reusable straws that incorporate the "reuse" and "reduce" R's. I am reusing straws and reducing the amount of plastic straws being used, which decreases the amount of plastic straws being added into landfills. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity De-Clutter My Home or Dorm RoomHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more unnecessary things in the future?
Taylor Hamm 2/16/2022 2:24 PMFor the future, I can be cautious of the items I want and need, making sure I am limiting the wants. I can also keep my things organized in my home so that I know what items might be unnecessary. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Track my PurchasesWhat have you noticed about your purchases? Where are you inclined to make shifts, if any?
