So far, it is going pretty well! I have switched out a few single use items for recyclable or reusable and I have spent more time outside.

It's getting nicer every day. I think a lot of us will be making our way outside soon.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Spend Time Outside
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

This does ring a few bells, one of which is the beauty of untouched nature found in the mountains or preserved parks.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Eliminate Toxic Plastics
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

I regularly use straws, plastic bags from grocery stores, and sometimes coffee cups. These could all easily be replaced.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health More Fruits and Veggies
How does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?

For myself, it seems to help settle my stomach and appetite. As for other people, I believe this may encourage themselves to eat a more balanced diet. For the planet, it helps use a better balance of foods instead of a larger portion of one group.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

One major experience outside in nature was a few years ago when I found wild foxes tending to their kin while I was on a hike.

Something that altered my perspective about nature is when I saw a bald eagle in the wild. When I was growing up, I was always told they were near extinction, so that was something that was really neat to see.

That sounds amazing! We had a coyote litter on campus last year.
