REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Mindfulness PracticeWhat best helped you with your Mindfulness Practice? How does Mindfulness keep you grounded and sustain your work with compassion?
Stefanie Hollmichel 4/21/2021 12:53 PMIt helps to schedule/plan it at the same time every day and to do it in the same place. Mindfulness keeps me grounded by making the space and time to pause in the day and do nothing but breathe and be present. By practicing mindfulness and non-judgment when it comes to my own thoughts and feelings, it helps me be more compassionate towards others too. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Enjoy the Sunrise/SunsetFather Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?
Stefanie Hollmichel 4/20/2021 12:20 PMI don't know that celebration is our primary purpose but it is definitely part of our purpose. As someone who has been celebrating the solar holidays for years, I can say that it definitely makes a person more aware of the changing seasons and the specialness that each one holds. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Try a New Way to PrepCanning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA or another trusted source. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?
Stefanie Hollmichel 4/19/2021 6:53 AMPlanning on canning green beans, making sauerkraut, making jam, and building a solar dehydrator to dry fruit and tomatoes.
