REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Know My healthHow do you deal with the physical and emotional stress of the big problems we face? How can you help others cope?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Join a Local CSADependable fresh food, better prices (cutting out carbon-heavy supply chain and grocery stores), supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these benefits (or others not listed here) inspires you the most?
Maggie Kinsley 11/11/2021 10:40 AMHonestly, the fact that I can support local farmers and families that are working so hard for a living is what inspires me to support others. Plus I enjoy eating local foods that taste better! -
Maggie Kinsley 11/11/2021 10:39 AMit going really well....;. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Collect Rain WaterTrace the water that flows down the drain from your house to the largest body of water nearby. What is the route it takes?
Maggie Kinsley 11/11/2021 10:39 AMWell we get our water from our well versus public utilities. The runoff and water that flows from my house travels to York County watersheds and then ultimately the Chesapeake Bay. -
Maggie Kinsley 11/11/2021 10:37 AMI think it is going really well -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Less Screen TimeWhat did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?
Maggie Kinsley 11/11/2021 10:35 AMI just used other parts of this challenge. Instead of being on my phone I have been out walking, or going to the barn to help care for the horses, or sit outside and read for my English class. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Keep a Nature JournalWhat natural gifts are you grateful for?
Maggie Kinsley 11/11/2021 10:34 AMI am grateful for the gift of sunshine! Having the sun shine on my face on fall days where it is brisk is a great reminder of the beauty of nature. I am also thankful for the few birds that are making noise around me. It is such a beauty to see the creatures flit and flutter about. -
Maggie Kinsley 11/10/2021 6:03 PMI have really been enjoying spending more time out in nature and less on screen time and indoors. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Practice Gratitude for EarthKathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How can we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?
Maggie Kinsley 11/01/2021 4:17 PMSpending more time out in nature for sure builds an attitude of gratitude, because experiencing it makes one see all that nature has to offer. If people would take more time in nature: hiking, biking, reading, sitting under a tree, they would have a deeper sense of gratitude.
