Matthew Knapp 4/18/2022 6:00 PMGetting out into the world and going on walks has been really great for me. I have made it a point to get outside and go for walks even on chilly and rainy days. While I definitely enjoy sunny days a lot more, I can still appreciate the world for what it is in that moment.-

Matthew Knapp 4/11/2022 6:32 PMWe are now 1/3 of the way done with this challenge and I think it has done a lot for my mental health. Two of my daily actions, which I have been able to do every single day so far, were enjoying the sunset/sunrise and going on walks. I struggle with making time to go on walks, but both of these things have really helped my mental health. A third daily action of mine was to write down three things that I am grateful for. This action has shown me all of the things that I take for granted in my day-to-day life. It has given me the opportunity to think about the small things in life, and to appreciate them.-
Alexis Dodson 4/12/2022 10:17 AMI started taking walks more when the weather started getting nice and I agree that it definitely helps with your mental health! I feel refreshed and energized when I take walks! -
Janet Beach Davis 4/12/2022 9:28 AMI'm glad you have taken time to just slow down and look around this month. We can all use a bit more of that.

REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Go for a Daily WalkHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
Matthew Knapp 4/07/2022 7:48 PMI experience my neighborhood at a much slower pace, both physically and mentally. When I go for walks I notice a lot more things versus when I am driving through my neighborhood. This is obviously because I am driving and focusing on the road, but I also think it has a lot to do with the fact that when I am driving I have a set destination in mind. When I am driving I have somewhere to be and, usually, a deadline to meet. Whereas when I am going for a walk, my sole purpose is going for a walk. I have more time to look at things, notice things, and interact with the world around me.-
Janet Beach Davis 4/11/2022 10:06 AMI love noticing the little things on my walks, flowers starting to come up, that really big pothole....

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Matthew Knapp 4/07/2022 7:46 PMI think working on yourself and your own happiness is really important, and it really helps to center yourself and envision a world that you want to be a part of. I think that when you really know who you are and what your values are, that's when you see the most growth in yourself which then causes a domino effect to impact the world because you want to help create a world and a community that you want to be a part of.
