Ka Lun Galant's actions
Food
Whole Food Lifestyle
I will enjoy 1 meal(s) each day free of processed foods.
Health
Take Control
Both systemic and personal sustainability are important! I will develop a plan with my medical professionals to achieve my best health and live my life to the fullest.
Water
Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.
Simplicity
Core Values
We may find more meaning and joy in life when our actions are aligned with our personal values. I will determine what my top 3-5 core values are so that I can better align my actions with them.
Simplicity
Work-Life Balance
I will not work more than 8 hour days each day to practice work-life balance.
Simplicity
Needs Vs. Wants
I will adopt a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach and only buy things I need.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Ka Lun Galant Lam 5/04/2021 8:51 PMAlthough I was not able to fill the eco-challenge form every day, this activity did help me to change my habit. The action I picked for myself did improve my personal wellness. I got rid of the straws as plastic dumping is harmful to the world. I believe everyone must still remember the photo of a straw pulled from a sea turtle. We should try to do something to protect the environment, -
Ka Lun Galant Lam 4/21/2021 5:35 PMEating whole food is an easy way for me to work within this eco-challenge. My family does not enjoy eating processed food at all. So we usually buy fresh food for the grocery store. I am not sure why eating whole food is good for the environment, but this website suggest me to do so and I feel good to follow it.-
April Ann Fong 4/24/2021 1:24 PMgood for you and good for the environment! processed foods tend to have less nutrients and fiber and more salt. https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/not-all-processed-foods-are-unhealthy
