REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Learn About Local Environmental Justice ConcernsWho is most affected by environmental degration and/or environmental irresponsiblity in your community? How are they affected?
Craig Lenski 10/28/2021 11:47 AMThe indigenous native Indians of this area have had their lands and culture taken by environmental issues such as the dams causing salmon populations to decline, resulting in a major cultural keystone being disrupted. In the end we are all affected by environmental irresponsibility, so it may have been/is hurting the native populations the most now, but it is everyone's problem to engage or attempt to address.-
April Ann Fong 10/30/2021 2:17 PMCraig, submit your reflections to the assignment tab...not here...although these are nice.

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Learn About Renewable EnergyWhat inspires you to act on sustainable energy and other energy issues?
Craig Lenski 10/28/2021 11:42 AMOur world and the diversity in it have suffered massively because of our negligence in being simply aware of human action impacts. Seeing that and knowing that I in some ways contribute to the negative impacts reflected in our environments makes me want to be a better more conscious person in every action I take and how I consume and source energy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Explore My AreaHow might spending more time outdoors enhance your brainpower?
Craig Lenski 10/28/2021 11:37 AMMy brain tends to wander to many topics while hiking which I truly enjoy, but it always causes me to rethink my interactions with the natural world and the individuals in it. I feel like each time I go I have more issues on my mind going up, and more clarity on the way down/back. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Craig Lenski 10/28/2021 11:22 AMShowing gratitude allows us to be more aware of the impact we have on others and that others have on our lives. Practicing this on a daily basis felt as if I started my days on a positive note, somehow giving me good energy to use and express throughout the rest of my day. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Eliminate Toxic PlasticsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Craig Lenski 10/28/2021 11:11 AMI used to utilize single use coffee filters and paper towels. I have substituted with a reusable filter and washable cloth towels. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Buy From a Farmers MarketWhat is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?
Craig Lenski 10/28/2021 11:07 AMsourcing locally both supports a native area while benefiting local economies. It is an easy way to get access to fresh and native vegetables which causes me to eat less meat products. This results in me contributing to less GHG emissions caused by animal farms. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Turn it offHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Craig Lenski 10/28/2021 11:03 AMDams are used in our area for electricity generation. Its caused major negative environmental and cultural impacts such as the huge decline in salmon populations. This also resulted in the end or displacement of native peoples both during the building of the dams and the operation of them. The creation of dams pollutes and disrupts ecological systems, which continues during operations and removal. -
Craig Lenski 10/28/2021 10:18 AMThis has been an enjoyable reminder to keep me on track with personal goals -
Craig Lenski 10/26/2021 1:33 PMmet with a relative and expressed my gratitude for being a part of my life. Did research and purchased personal care from ecofriendly company and avoided products with any plastic -
Craig Lenski 10/25/2021 12:43 PMgot to a farmers market and continued to avoid buying anything with plastic or non recyclable packaging.
