  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health Go get a check up
How do you practice self care?

I have been really struggling with self care lately, but the best way I have learned to take time for myself is to make tea. I absolutely adore tea and taking the time to stop, slow down, and go through the process of making it is very therapeutic.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community Host A Watch Party
What did you learn about in the documentary you watched? How did it make you feel?

I watched Gather with my friends, learning about the food sovereignty struggle of Native Americans who are working to reclaim their ancestral food practices. It made me feel very sad about the beautiful culture that was nearly erased by genocide, but made me feel hopeful for the native people that they can reintroduce these practices and better connect and reestablish these integral practices.

I watched Gather, a documentary on Netflix about the native movement to reclaim their ancestral meals and strengthen their culture after the genocide that demolished and continues to demolish their spiritual ways. I really liked this documentary, but it did make me cry because the history and reality is so tragic.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Simplicity Go For A Daily Walk Outside
Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

Taking a walk everyday helps me to center myself and relieve stress. I have been very stressed this semester and these walks have really helped me keep it together.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Switch to Cold Water
What do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?

I don't save any money from washing in cold water, but I recently stopped using softener as it can degrade washing machines and is unsustainable without a whole lot of benefit. I use the extra money from softener to buy produce that is organic and a little pricier.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Car Share
Take a moment to think of places you frequent often (school, work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

    Kora Lovdahl 3/24/2022 11:44 AM
This month when I needed to go to the grocery store off campus, I offered to drive my friends with me on Sundays. Whether it was just two or five of us, we made an impact on our carbon footprint.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Plant an Herb Garden
Consider the ways you can garden: a plot of land? a patio container? hanging basket? windowsill gardens? What would work best for your living situation and lifestyle?

I live in a dorm and planted mint, basil, and lemon balm in a planter on my desk.
