    Living in California has spoiled me in the abundance of produce and farmers markets and the like. Small mountain town CO doesn't have the same luxury just because produce has a lot further to travel to retailers.

    I am visiting home these next two weeks so my challenges are a little more difficult to accomplish, but it is also a great time to share with my family what I am learning and encourage them to incorporate some of these or at least be thinking about them

    Food Weekly Meal Planning
    An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

    The waste does not surprise me, I know I tend to waste a lot. I don't have a specific place I want to use the extra money, perhaps simply just save it or give more. I think it would be beneficial and more impactful to track it to have a good comparison of before and after

    If I gathered up my waste, I think there would be a pretty good amount so it will be good to compost and put it to use/not just throw it away. I am planning on using it for garden soil

    I have enjoyed doing a workout plan with one of my friends and going on walks with family or friends or surfing/ which is also a great way to incorporate quality time with people into exercise

    Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
    While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

    I keep a case of water in the back of my car and if I run out of water in my Hydro, I grab from the case especially if I am out and about. Part of it, is that it is easy and quick but then I get a little pile up of plastic water bottles in my car so I just need to not be lazy about filling my Hydro

    Having these challenges is a helpful nudge when feeling tired or lazy. Knowing I have a bubble to check gives me that little extra push to follow through
