Water
Conserve Toilet Water
I will save up to 12 gallons (45 L) of water a day by flushing only when necessary.
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 2 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 3 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Conserve Toilet WaterWhat would a sustainable water future in your region look like? What needs to change?
Victoria Melrose 4/24/2022 6:44 PMpeople need to stop the little stuff such as keep water running when it’s not in use, taking shorter showers, not overdoing laundry loads, etc. all of this little stuff will add up a lot over time. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
Victoria Melrose 4/20/2022 11:55 AMsome of the barriers are thing such as convenience - water bottles are everywhere while a reusable one isn’t. a way to work it to your advantage is to get a reusable bottle and decorate all pretty so you can’t forget it and it’s also just some good self innovative. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Skip the StrawHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Victoria Melrose 4/20/2022 11:52 AMi have started to thrift when clothes shopping because it helps me save money but it’s also better for the environment. another thing ive done was add a recycling bin at my job so we at least have that as an option from now on.
