Brad's actions
Water
Brush My Teeth Without Running Water
I will save up to 8 gallons (30 L) of water each day by turning it off while brushing my teeth.
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Water
5-Minute Showers
I will save up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute showers.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 30 minute(s) each day.
Energy
Power Down the Computer
I will power down my computer and monitor when not using it for more than 2 hours, saving up to (1.1) lbs of CO2 each day that I do this.
Water
Conserve Toilet Water
I will save up to 12 gallons (45 L) of water a day by flushing only when necessary.
Energy
Heat and Cool Naturally
I will naturally heat and cool my house, office, or dorm room by opening or closing my windows, curtains, and blinds, and by using fans.
Energy
Turn it off
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.
Waste
Prevent Recycling Contamination
Contamination prevents what is recyclable from being recycled. I will spend 10 minutes researching which materials are accepted by local haulers or drop stations in my community and recycle only those items.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Turn it offHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Brad Milton 6/11/2020 3:41 PMSDG&E generates 54% of the energy by shipping natural gas from Texas and New Mexico. Solar accounts for 18%, wind makes up 15%, and 11% comes from unspecified sources. I know that SDG&E are looking to become more green and to no longer build natural gas power plants. All of the plants and power lines have been in place for many years. If San Diego is able to use offshore wind farms to generate power there are possible impacts on sea birds and whales in the area of the wind farm and the cables that connect to land.-
Professor Morrell 6/14/2020 3:40 PMNice job Brad!
