Say No to Plastic Straws

An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

COMPLETED 14
DAILY ACTIONS

Waste

Use a Reusable Water Bottle

I will keep 2 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.

I got a smoothie today without the straw that they normally give you. The lady looked kind of shocked when I passed it up. It was kind of hard to drink but worth the sea animal I saved and/or the straw sitting and waiting to decompose for hundreds of years.

I thought that a 5 min shower would be very difficult as i have a lot of hair to wash, but I realized that if I just worked as efficient as I can, I could make it. I just won't have my shower thinking time anymore...
