Community
LEARN ABOUT TRANS, FEMME, AND NONBINARY EXPERIENCES
I will spend 75 minutes learning about the experiences of trans, femme, and/or nonbinary people.
Nature
Explore My Area
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area.
Waste
Find Local Recycling Depots
I will find out where to recycle the recyclable items that I can't put in recycling dumpsters or my curbside bin.
Nature
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 30 minute(s) each day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside.
Water
Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity LEARN ABOUT TRANS, FEMME, AND NONBINARY EXPERIENCESHow is equality for trans, femme, and nonbinary people important to a just and sustainable society?
Olivia Pettinicchi 3/23/2022 9:32 AMoften, the most marginalized people are the most impacted by environmental harm. Historically marginalized people, including but not limited to POC, LGBT+, etc, are poorer. These poorer communities are the areas decimated by flooding, caused by unprecedented weather due to climate disasters and such. thus, environmental justice is equal justice -
Olivia Pettinicchi 3/17/2022 7:25 PMI forget how much a nice day can improve my mood. Today I spent an hour taking a walk around the reservoir and then read for an hour outside by a pond. I felt so content by the way I spent my time today -
Olivia Pettinicchi 3/14/2022 7:51 AMit was a bit validating to see how many of the challenges were already things I complete in my day to day life, but in the same vein it has also reminded me that there is so much more I can still do.
