Waste
Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
I will learn about sustainable fashion and begin trying to practice it in my own life.
Simplicity
Meditate
I will meditate or create a moment of silence for 20 minute(s) each day to reflect on things important to me.
Health
Eliminate Toxic Plastics
I will avoid buying toxic plastics - including polycarbonate, polystyrene and polyvinyl - and instead replace them with durable non-plastic options.
Food
Meet My Local Farmers
I will visit my nearest farm to find out who produces my food, and will learn about the quality of life of those around the world who produce my food in order to make better choices when I shop.
Simplicity
Mindfulness Practice
I will spend 20 minute(s) per day practicing Mindfulness.
Simplicity
Core Values
We may find more meaning and joy in life when our actions are aligned with our personal values. I will determine what my top 3-5 core values are so that I can better align my actions with them.
Waste
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Cheap, single-use items and disposable packaging end up blowing around as litter more often in poor and POC-majority neighborhoods. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.
Waste
Find Local Recycling Depots
I will find out where to recycle the recyclable items that I can't put in recycling dumpsters or my curbside bin.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Practice Loving-Kindness MeditationHow can practicing Loving-Kindness Meditation be helpful to the health of the environment?

Cassandra Pierpont 1/27/2022 12:55 AMI’m sorry this image is sideways, but I have started investing time into planning out my day and preliminaries for the beginning week. It’s a lot of work but I find it super helpful especially in finding determined down time. -
Cassandra Pierpont 1/14/2022 12:55 AMIt's going good. I learned you cannot put those recycled grocery bags in recycling, I just found that out. Took out 1 bag of recyclables and cardboard that I've accumulated over a week or so, dumped it, and put the bag in my car so I can take the mass of grocery bags I've accumulated from forgetting to bring my reusable bags, but I'll get a separate receptacle. Those bags have stations at most grocery stores I've seen as well. I also help a woman I don't know connect with some help regarding a landlord/section 8 situation she is facing, which is still developing, but the woman's landlord who is the owner at A&M hit her tenant on camera and I reached out to my previous professor, Richard Brinkman, who I know has held positions that have connections and is passionate about social justice, and now he is involved so I am super excited about that.
