REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Find Local Recycling DepotsOur ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors, including market demand for recyclables. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?
Russell Queen 5/02/2021 11:26 AM- Most recyclable items can be placed in curbside bins or taken to various drop-off locations. But, there a lot of household items can not be placed in curbside bins. The city of Bloomington has a drop-off location but, it does not accept electronics. It does encourage citizens to take recyclable electronics to various locations throughout the city. A person can drop-off recyclable electronics at locations such as Home Sweet Home Ministries, Habitat Restore, or Best Buy. The city of Normal has it's own drop-off location that also take electronics.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Watch a Documentary about Food SovereigntyHow does food sovereignty address the complex transition from localized food systems to modern global food systems?
Russell Queen 5/02/2021 10:03 AMFood sovereignty helps the small local farms stay in business and feed their families. It keeps the big corporation food producers from pushing out the smaller farmers and monopolizing the industry. A government organization should be established to monitor the industry to prevent big corporations from using unfair practices to push the small farmers out. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Go PaperlessReducing your paper mail can reduce mental clutter as well as physical waste -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?
Russell Queen 4/26/2021 6:12 PMEvery month I get bills and it's a waste because most times I've already paid them online. So, I call the companies that I do business with online and request to go paperless. Now I need to get rid the unnecessary papers I've already accumulated.-
