I started to do meal plans so there would not be as much food waste in this house. Over 200 pounds of food goes to waste each year and that number needs too drop. Money is wasted and it is not good for the environment to waste so much food. I wanted to support reducing pollution as well by not driving cars as much. Any small things that can help will help.

What environmental factors affect human health in your region, and how do they affect it?

There are a lot of environmental factors that affect human health in my region. There are power-plants that fill the air with pollution. People who drive diesel or heavily required gas filled cars pollute areas in the cities. They affect it by harming species that thrive off of the ecosystem. Bees and other reliable species are dying and it seems to be due to the pollution in the air.

    Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

This does surprise me that there is so much food being wasted per year. It is a waste of money that could be spent on other important things to benefit the environment. If meal plans were a set in stone thing for everyone, there would not be as much waste as there is today.
