REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityIndigenous speaker and activist Winona LaDuke says that, "most indigenous ceremonies, if you look to their essence, are about the restoration of balance — they are a reaffirmation of our relationship to creation. That is our intent: to restore, and then to retain balance and honor our part in creation." Why is balance important to sustainability?
Kayla Raye 3/17/2021 7:04 PMBalance is important in sustainability because we need to balance our actions as individuals, corporations, organizations, etc. and what is best for the environment. We need to have balance within our sustainable actions and support all areas of environmental justice. From Land Back actions to holding corporations accountable for emissions and more. In order to sustain the fight for environmental justice there needs to be balance in the movement and organizing tactics. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterWhat are some of the needs that water meets or benefits that water provides for you?
Kayla Raye 3/16/2021 10:54 AMI use water to drink, cook, bathe, clean, etc. It is an essential part of our day to day lives whether we realize it or not. My mom bought a water dispenser a few years ago so now instead of plastic bottles we buy jugs and refill reusable water bottles.
