Martha's actions
Simplicity
Less Screen Time
I will replace 30 minute(s) of screen time each day with other activities.
Health
Audit Toxic Cleaning Products
I will spend 10 minutes researching toxic chemicals found in cleaning supplies and personal care products and remove them from my home or dorm room.
Water
Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.
Water
Use Reusable Bottles
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 2 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterWhat are some of the needs that water meets or benefits that water provides for you?
Martha Schmid 10/05/2020 11:50 AMEveryone needs water to survive. I try to drink a lot of water every single day to stay healthy and since I workout everyday, I drink a lot of water. Some benefits of drinking a lot of water include, staying hydrated, having clear skin, gaining more energy, and being more healthy overall. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityWhat did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?
Martha Schmid 10/05/2020 11:47 AMIt was definitely difficult to get off my phone and do something else. But, I think this will be a great challenge and it will get easier over time!
