Water
Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 1 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.
Energy
Turn it off
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 30 minute(s) each day.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Megan Schwarz 2/27/2019 11:39 AMYou can easily exchange going to the gym for hiking at a park with friends, or taking a walk/ bike ride outdoors. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Say No to Plastic StrawsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Megan Schwarz 2/14/2019 7:27 PMInstead of ordering drinks with plastic containers, I could bring my own reusable cup. Also, at the grocery store, instead of getting plastic bags for everything, I can bring reusable bags with me. This will illuminate the amount of plastic I am receiving.
