Use Reusable Bottles
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 2 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.

Water
Say No to Plastic Straws

Nature
Practice Gratitude for Earth
I will spend 20 minute(s) per day outside, practicing gratitude (prayer, meditation, journaling, etc.) for Earth and my natural surroundings.
Simplicity
Limit Social Media
I will limit my social media use to once each day reducing my daily use by 30 minute(s)
Water
Brush My Teeth Without Running Water
I will save up to 8 gallons (30 L) of water each day by turning it off while brushing my teeth.
Nature
Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
I will enjoy the sunrise and/or sunset each day.

REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Enjoy the Sunrise/SunsetFather Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?
Daniel Shea 3/21/2022 11:19 AMI agree. We need to appreciate our earth more and not take things such as the sunset/sunrise for granted. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Use Reusable BottlesWhat are some of the needs that water meets or benefits that water provides for you?
Daniel Shea 3/21/2022 11:18 AMWater clenches thirst and helps plants grow. The world cannot exist as it is without the water cycle. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Daniel Shea 3/21/2022 11:17 AMMeet has a huge impact on our environment. It is eaten more in richer countries because it is much more expensive to produce than non-meet products. Its impacts include emissions from cattle farming, desertification, and pollution. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Say No to Plastic StrawsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Daniel Shea 3/21/2022 11:11 AMFood container, plastic utensils, cups. I can use reusable plates, cups, and utensils and think more conciously. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Practice Gratitude for EarthKathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How can we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?
Daniel Shea 3/21/2022 11:05 AMI agree. By practicing gratitude, one is more likely to think consciously about the earth. We can cultivate a sense of gratitude by investing in natural recourses and pointing out things that come from nature. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Brush My Teeth Without Running WaterWhat is the main water source in your region? If you don't know, how could you find out?
Daniel Shea 3/14/2022 8:01 PMCity water, not sure of the source. I could find out by researching on my county's website. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater 5-Minute ShowersName some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?
Daniel Shea 3/14/2022 8:00 PMLocally pollution impacts our water and globally it is impacted by overfishing, oil spills, and carbon emissions. Stop littering and choose to eat sustainable fish to help.
