  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?

I think it may be because we have more access to animal products, it is also probably more expensive than growing food. Eat more meat affects our planet and other people because it uses up a lot of land, the land can be damaged from over grazing, and animals like cows produce a lot of CO2.

My challenge is going good! They only thing I wish I would have done, is be more creative with my vegan meals. I didn't experiment that much and pretty much ate the same thing everyday.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Tour A Waste Management Facility
Field trip! What a fun way to learn about our impact and consumption! What facility did you tour? What did you learn?

I visited the La Crosse County Solid Waste Department. I learned about the types of products that they take there and how they handle them. I also learned that they have a reuse room with supplies that people brought in but still are useable and you can take them for free. I went with my class to this facility.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?

I want to buy some bamboo/reusable utensils that I can carry around with me all the time, so if I'm ever somewhere that they just have plastic utensils I can use my own instead.

How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

You can add these personal values in by exercising with your friends and doing it out in nature

My challenge is going pretty well, last week was hard because I was sick so exercising everyday didn't happen. I still had my vegan meal once a day and two vegetarian meals everyday but I forgot to mark them as complete :(
