Hawaii is a island where water is really important but it is also really native and it is important to keep the root where everything come from.

How might spending more time outdoors enhance your brainpower?

Doing hike trails and connecting with the earth. For me it makes me relax and breath being able to be out there connecting with nature hearing the wind blowing, the sound of the birds or even the sound of the ocean brings me peace and a clear mind.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Father Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?

We need to appreciate everyday. It is important to value every sunrise and every sunset. Seeing like everyone and each of them are different everyday makes them special and valuable to me.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

It doesn't surprise me we live in a society, where we consume too much for what we actually eat. This money could go to other important necesity in a family of four. But it could also go to other people or other important actions for the planet that need it.

    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

    Margaux Solari's avatar
    Margaux Solari 4/14/2022 4:58 PM
In every daily activity we could include them and even if we don't do them all because we can't try a least doing one or two. We can try to reduce our electricity consummtion everyday by first turning the lights off when we leave a room. We can reuse our water bottles instead of buying new ones.
