Many of the actions were things I already wanted to implement. This just gave me another motivation to start. It's going good so far.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Exercise Daily
How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

    Kerry Stapf's avatar
    Kerry Stapf 4/04/2021 6:41 AM
Opt outside is a great way to get your exercise and explore, or just experience, nature. When it's warm out I enjoy walking on nature paths.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Learn About Renewable Energy
What inspires you to act on sustainable energy and other energy issues?

    Kerry Stapf's avatar
    Kerry Stapf 4/04/2021 6:40 AM
I want us to preserve the earth for generations, decades, centuries. I want it to be as beautiful, or more, as when I was here. To do that, sustainability is a must.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Choose LED Bulbs
Switching out your lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?

    Kerry Stapf's avatar
    Kerry Stapf 4/04/2021 6:39 AM
If possible, starting to use more energy efficient everything will move us towards less carbon emissions. Car pooling is a great start, especially if you don't live on a city so public transport or walking isn't an option.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community SIGN UP TO VOTE
Why is voting important to creating a just, sustainable, and thriving world? In what other ways can you actively participate in important decision-making?

    Kerry Stapf's avatar
    Kerry Stapf 4/04/2021 6:37 AM
Voting let's your voice get heard. As society starts to value sustainability more, it will show in our votes.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

    Kerry Stapf's avatar
    Kerry Stapf 4/04/2021 6:36 AM
I think I could really benefit by looking into repairing more. I don't have a lot of experience using tools, but I'd like to extend the life of my things more.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Healthy Sleep
Consider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?

    Kerry Stapf's avatar
    Kerry Stapf 3/31/2021 3:24 PM
I'd like to get 7 to 7.5 hours each night, instead of just massive oversleeping on the weekends. I'm still working on putting down the book or turning off the TV at night at a decent time.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health Go get a check up
How do you practice self care?

    Kerry Stapf's avatar
    Kerry Stapf 3/31/2021 3:23 PM
Listening to my body. If I hurt, I don't force myself to do something strenuous. If I'm hungry, I'll have a snack. When I'm stressed, I take time to be in a quiet place where I can relax.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

    Kerry Stapf's avatar
    Kerry Stapf 3/31/2021 3:10 PM
Keeping an extra reusable one in my car might help. But honestly I'm already using my reusable one 99% of the time.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

    Kerry Stapf's avatar
    Kerry Stapf 3/31/2021 3:08 PM
If the items are able to be carried in my hands, I do that. Otherwise I accept disposable bags, with the intent of using them as trash liners later on. This doesn't happen to me very often, as I keep my bags in my car, both in the front and back.
