REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Track my PurchasesWhat have you noticed about your purchases? Where are you inclined to make shifts, if any?
River Starliper 3/02/2022 5:58 PMI keep a budget spreadsheet that functions as a purchase tracker for myself, but lately I have not been reliably updating it, resulting in spending more than I really should be. I buy a lot of really random things as "gifts for myself," and as nice as that can be, I need to focus more on things that will sustainably improve my life as opposed to instant gratification. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Limit Social MediaSocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also create echo chambers and take more time than we realize or intend to give. After completing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?
River Starliper 3/01/2022 5:15 PMStepping back from social media is tough -- this is a goal I've undertaken before, and no matter how nice it feels, I always end up back on my phone 24/7 after a couple of weeks. I definitely feel like time moves slower, and the time that I spend on hobbies feels more relaxing and less stressful. On the other hand, I have a lot of friends across the country that I value very dearly, and when I am not on social media I feel less connected to these people.
