Energy
Choose Clean/Renewable Energy
I will sign up for my utility company's clean/renewable energy option.
Energy
Turn it off
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.
Waste
Advocate For More Food Packaging Options
I will advocate for alternatives to single-use packaging at local grocery stores, markets, at work, or on campus to reduce pollution in the environment and in local communities.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Brush My Teeth Without Running WaterWhat is the main water source in your region? If you don't know, how could you find out?
-
Ana Dutciuc 11/29/2020 10:12 PMDid you find it on the internet ?

REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Fix Leaky FaucetsFixing leaky faucets is one of the tasks that we can easily put off until later. Good job on completing this action! How will you use the momentum from completing this action to increase your water efficiency in other ways?
-
Alyssa Panduro 11/29/2020 10:14 PMThat's a great start! I have also started doing this because the amount of water that comes out of my shower faucet is crazy to me! Its almost a waste of water that I cant get back. All I see now is money going down the drain so I am very secure about it now. -
Ana Dutciuc 11/29/2020 10:12 PMGood !

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
Parker Taylor 11/29/2020 10:00 PMI typically carry them out with my hands or if its too much than I will use the cart to help carry them out to my car. Typically I will have a few reusable bags for some of the things I purchased. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Skip the StrawHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Parker Taylor 11/29/2020 9:33 PMI can reduce the amount of plastic I use by reusing it. I will continue to refuse plastic bottles water and straws and I will repair my garden so that I can continue to grow my own produce.-
Ana Dutciuc 11/29/2020 10:12 PMHow’s it going?

REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Go for a Daily WalkHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
Parker Taylor 11/29/2020 9:31 PMWalking around the area that I live in, not only helps my own mind but I get to enjoy the beautiful area that I live in. I sometimes take it for granted by always being in a rush to work or other activities.-
Ana Dutciuc 11/29/2020 10:13 PMThat’s amazing Parker keep it up ! -
Amanda Barba 11/29/2020 9:47 PMHello Parker, that is a very great idea! I started doing this with my family, and it became part of after dinner routine which helped us bond more. I hope you continue to keep walking and remember to enjoy those moments.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
Parker Taylor 11/29/2020 9:30 PMI love my new hydroflask because my water stays cold throughout the day. The benefit is also protecting the environment by completing such an easy task.-
Ana Dutciuc 11/29/2020 10:13 PMI have a hydroflask as well ! I love it so much

REFLECTION QUESTIONCreate Your Own Action Forage for My FoodPeople are motivated to forage for many different reasons: as a source for food, a means of income, to connect with nature, to participate in cultural tradition, transmitting specific ecological knowledge, or as a means of stewarding local and native plant populations are just a few examples. What is your chief motivation for foraging?
Parker Taylor 11/29/2020 9:29 PMLocal-foraging not only helps the planets health but also supports local smaller business in your community. My chief motivation for foraging is to help protect the environment from larger companies that do not consider the damages they cause. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Choose Clean/Renewable EnergyHow might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to clean energy?
Parker Taylor 11/29/2020 9:28 PMI talked to my company about getting solar power on the building that they own to run the electricity. I think I got them thinking and I am hoping that they will follow-through with my idea.-
Ana Dutciuc 11/29/2020 10:14 PMI think they will and if they do follow up with your idea that would be even better !

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Choose LED BulbsSwitching out your lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?
Parker Taylor 11/29/2020 9:27 PMI changed 6 lightbulbs this week that are more ecofriendly and they work great. I will continue to change all of the lightbulbs in my house and protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions-
Alyssa Panduro 11/29/2020 10:16 PMNice job! This is something I need to look into because I dont know the difference between light bulbs. Do some light bulbs save more energy? Or what is the point in switching out the light bulbs?

Parker Taylor 11/29/2020 9:25 PMEnergy is generated from a plant where I live but I recently talked to my parents about investing in solar power to make an impact on the environment.
