The primary metric of the results for the energy audit I performed was an investment and return. With the information I provided, the website suggested that my family and I could save $5,800 with only spending $460 in upgraded and more energy-efficient technology. Aside from the huge financial surprise, it made me wonder what that means in terms of energy loss and over-consumption for our home. This inspired to be more conscious about the energy I use.

This morning I explored the McDowell Sonoran Preserve on the Gateway Loop Trail. After my hike, I came home and (after a full breakfast) got to work on school assignments. I felt rejuvenated from the hike exploring more of my natural surroundings. Being aware of what our natural roots are gives a better sense of place and separation. It's important to recognize that we are humans before students or employees.

Practicing gratitude makes me realize that we take a lot of things for granted every day. Each day is a gift and being aware of that makes life much more enjoyable. That being said, doing in everything in my power to create a better world for everyone to live in seems to be a moral duty.
