  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Building Resilience Get Involved in the Water Justice Movement
Who is affected by polluted water or a lack of access to water in your region? How are they affected?

    Tyrani White's avatar
    Tyrani White 4/15/2021 8:59 AM
Many animals are affected by water pollution.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Tyrani White's avatar
    Tyrani White 4/13/2021 11:48 AM
I could make my own clothes with old fabrics I may have.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Personal Waste Audit
Why is it so difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places? How might your experience with this challenge impact your future consumption and choices?

    Tyrani White's avatar
    Tyrani White 4/13/2021 11:48 AM
This makes me want to think more intensely about my future consumption and choices.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Find Local Recycling Depots
Our ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors, including market demand for recyclables. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?

    Tyrani White's avatar
    Tyrani White 4/13/2021 11:47 AM
I found certain boxes and bins at restaurants and stores that you could use to recycle.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Choose Two-Sided Printing
Choosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?

    Tyrani White's avatar
    Tyrani White 4/13/2021 11:46 AM
I can put a sign on the printer encouraging others to use 2 sided printing to save paper.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

    Tyrani White's avatar
    Tyrani White 4/13/2021 11:45 AM
Sometimes I forget my reusable water bottle so I could avoid that by just carrying an extra in my backpack
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

    Tyrani White's avatar
    Tyrani White 4/13/2021 11:42 AM
I dont like washing dishes so that stands in the way of me using a reusable mug so I guess I could be a little less lazy so that I can stop using single-use cups.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

    Tyrani White's avatar
    Tyrani White 4/13/2021 11:41 AM
I can try my best to reduce reuse and recycle at least two times every single day to incorporate it into my routine.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

    Tyrani White's avatar
    Tyrani White 4/13/2021 11:40 AM
I could carry a couple of disposable bags in my car.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Reduce Single-Use Disposables
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What did you substitute or could be substituted instead?

    Tyrani White's avatar
    Tyrani White 4/13/2021 11:38 AM
I use straws sometimes so instead I could use reusable silicone straws instead
