Mark Williams 9/19/2021 2:02 PMAs my older Actions became habits, I started to activate new challenges to keep track of them along with previous challenges that I de-selected. It has been manageable for me to complete the current actions but, I have to remind myself and keep in mind the goals I have to accomplish daily. -
Mark Williams 9/14/2021 9:07 AMFor most of my daily challenges, I'm starting to accommodate to them daily. Although the amount of straws or plastic bags I may save daily vary, It is becoming easier to adhere to these challenges. Within a week, I hope to change my daily actions in hope of my current ones being habits. -
Mark Williams 9/11/2021 3:41 PMToday was a busier day for me than most. A few notable actions I have taken today was saving the usage of several plastic bags while making purchases at the market by utilizing tote bags. Additionally, I was given the opportunity to prevent the usage of plastic straws as I notified my friends the dangers of plastic, stopping them from using these straws.
Other than that, I have been following my current actions of saving water and electricity consistently and consecutively; in hopes for them to be regular habits. -
Mark Williams 9/08/2021 1:35 PMMore often than not, I focus a lot on the amount of water I am utilizing within a bathroom or restroom. I applied for these actions to challenge myself to take it one step further and to see if I can manage a 5-minute shower than the normal 10-minute shower I take or the length I run my faucet when brushing and washing my face or teeth. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Brush My Teeth Without Running WaterWhat is the main water source in your region? If you don't know, how could you find out?
Mark Williams 9/08/2021 1:28 PMThe two primary sources of water in my region or city is the Schuylkill and the Delaware River. -
Mark Williams 9/07/2021 3:42 PMTypically, I like to have the air-conditioner on during the summer to keep me cool. To save energy in this circumstance, I turned up the thermostat to a point that would turn off the air-conditioner. I adapted to the situation by opening the windows and wearing clothing that fits more for the season. Additionally, skipping the usage of plastic bags and straws are not too difficult but is out of the ordinary for my habits. In the future, I will think more heavily on investing in tote bags for groceries. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Adjust the ThermostatYour utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?
Mark Williams 9/07/2021 3:34 PMNot only remembering when to turn off appliances could help but, using certain appliances and electronics only when you need them can often help. Wired electronics also use electricity even when they are turned off so, unplugging these devices can save energy as well.
