REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat did you learn about in the documentary you watched? How did it make you feel?
Ava Wright 1/25/2021 9:49 PMAfter hosting a watch party for the movie "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power", I learned updated information about climate change from Al Gore, which reinforced how urgent action on climate change is. It made me feel knowledgeable and empowered. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteHow can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?
Ava Wright 1/15/2021 8:15 PMExpressing your personality and creativity doesn't require purchasing new clothes or fast fashion. Participating in clothing swaps, buying second-hand clothing, or shopping from eco-friendly brands (materials that required little water and fertilizer, non-harmful dyes, etc) can allow you to be fashionable without contributing to the environmental harm caused by fast fashion. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Ava Wright 1/11/2021 6:31 PMPeople in rich countries consume more meat than in other places because meat is expensive and cannot be afforded by all. This diet has caused the evolution of a meat industry that relies on the mass production of meat, unethical practices, and harm to the environment because transporting meat pollutes the planet. Eating a large amount of meat may have negative impacts on one's health. -
