I mulched the trees and bushes that are at my parents home in Southern Oregon. The closes body of water to them is the Applegate river. The area that my parents live in is farmland; so, I believe that the river will have pesticide, insecticide, and fungicide runoff. There have not been any river shutdowns due to chemicals or unsafe conditions.

I have been trying to mellow out around 10-11 so that I can be laying down and nearly asleep by midnight. This allows me to get about eight hours of sleep until I wake up at 8 am. Sometimes I don't always hold true to this and my patterns fluctuate. I find that setting this time for tea and reading or a show helps me power down from the day.

I am going to save the money that doesn't get used on my laundry card and utilize it towards more washes. Thus, I will be able to get more washes than prior.

Turning off lights that don't need to be on. I have been turning off the outlets when I have gone camping or visited home. There are other simple steps towards saving energy, these are just a few that came to mind.

I want future generations to experience the world in its glory and beauty. I feel as though one of the only ways to sustain humans is through renewable energies. Nonrenewable is going to run out and it is not worth the effects it has on climate change.

I would say that bags accumulated through grocery shopping. The paper bags are reused for other produce and for fires when camping/colder winter months. The plastic bags however were not so easily discarded, they would be used for trash but then sent to the landfill... So I began my reusable grocery bag journey and since then have drastically...

I believe that is a false statement. Agriculture counts for approximately 11-13% of all greenhouse gas emissions. The current methods are not viable for a health and sustainable future. Organic farming has much less harmful effects on the environment and can in fact improve land and air quality in comparison to its conventional counterpart.

People within countries that have access to more resources and capital tend to eat the majority of meat. That is because it costs more money to produce meat than it does to produce and sell grains; it is also easier to ship and store meatless products making them more viable and ethical to places that don't have an abundance of food. Eating...

I have been listening to podcasts on living with less, and the idea that less is more. I am hoping that I will be able to ditch my habit of finding sentimentality within my unnecessary things.

Walking each day makes me appreciate the nature I have available to me. While taking a walk I notice the blossoms and blooming flowers and I went to the PSU farmer's market and was able to see all the fresh produce that our community provides.
