REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Use Public TransitThe US spends roughly 20% of its federal budget on defense. In contrast, 2% goes to education, 20% goes to social security and just 3% goes to transportation infrastructure. Do these numbers surprise you at all? Why or why not? How would you adjust them if you could?
ravenna bala 11/20/2019 8:09 PMI honestly have no idea if these numbers surprise me. I guess with the education that number should be a little bit higher because education is very important and the countries that put in time with there education are more successful. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
ravenna bala 11/20/2019 8:07 PMyes i do believe that it rings true for me. Without beauty and mysteries of natural, where would our questioning come from ? The implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors is that they won't be able to experience what it is like to explore and get connected with nature and the world. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth More Fruits and VeggiesHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?
ravenna bala 11/19/2019 12:43 PMEating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect ourself, other people and our planet by making us feel better and digest better and it clears up the question of where the food is coming from. Also no animals will be hurt and treated horribly.. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Turn it offHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
ravenna bala 11/19/2019 12:36 PMElectricity is generated by water power, sunlight and wind power. This impacts the environment, animals and humans by creating some sort of pollution and by products. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Whole Food LifestyleMichael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this assertion?
ravenna bala 11/10/2019 11:30 PMmy thoughts on this is that if you eat right and put good things into your body then it won't be necessary to have a million doctors appointments and waste money if you can prevent it -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Volunteer in my CommunityWhat is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?
ravenna bala 11/10/2019 11:28 PMone thing I can do to help my community to be sustainable is to recycle and to pull out invasive species -
ravenna bala 11/07/2019 12:25 PMThe eco challenge is going great. I am being more careful of what I do and really taking it into account like turning of the lights and watching what I eat. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Healthy SleepConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
ravenna bala 11/03/2019 3:59 PMI get an average of 5-8 hours a sleep every night and I have about a 30 minute to 3 hour nap a day. I honestly would not like to shift any of my sleep patterns. I am successful when I have a nap in the middle of the day because I have to wake up so early for practice. So about time I am done with my practice and weights, still no one is up for there day. So I already been wake for her 5 hours when people start to wake up. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Choose Two-Sided PrintingChoosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?
ravenna bala 10/24/2019 4:51 PMI told all of my roommates that are about to print to make sure that they are doing double sided. Yes it can be encouraged company wide because in the end of things, reduceing the amount of paper can help everyone out.
