Crystal Brown 11/30/2020 10:01 PMSome of the daily tasks that I set for myself I will continue to do outside of this challenge -
Crystal Brown 11/30/2020 10:00 PMWish we had more time with the challenge -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Crystal Brown 11/30/2020 9:59 PMI would not necessarily says this rings true for me. I think cultures that spend most of their time indoors implicated people who are too attached to their television, phones, gaming system and computers to get out and take a second to enjoy the world around them. Inside will always be there but the outside might not always be. COVID-19 has taught us that if not anything else -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Enjoy the Sunrise/SunsetFather Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?
Crystal Brown 11/30/2020 9:56 PMI feel as if Berry is trying to saying that with ever sunset and dawn you should celebrate and enjoy everything that is around you. For every new day brings growth and new energy -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Go get a check upHow do you practice self care?
Crystal Brown 11/30/2020 9:52 PMI practice self care by going to the doctor and getting a year check up along with making sure my thyroid levels were within normal range -
Crystal Brown 11/30/2020 9:50 PMWish some the categories would have related to who I am as a individual more -
Crystal Brown 11/30/2020 9:49 PMI can not believe today is the last day for the challenge. I definitely feel like this challenge has made me more aware during my life habits and the impact it puts on the Earth -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Organize a CourseHow can you use Ecochallenge.org programs to help mobilize your community to take action toward a sustainable future?
Crystal Brown 11/30/2020 9:48 PMEcochallenge.org has so many useful tools to help educate and get you started to create your own goals outside of the website. I would use to make a more sustainable future by starting with how much water we waste everyday. That seems to be the biggest problem I see across the board -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Joyful MovementWhat's your favorite activity(ies) in which you experience joy while being active and moving?
Crystal Brown 11/18/2020 1:53 AMDancing with my daughter. She throughly enjoys dancing like I do so it makes every minute so worth the smile on both of our faces -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Limit Social MediaSocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also create echo chambers and take more time than we realize or intend to give. After completing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?
Crystal Brown 11/07/2020 12:58 AMI have noticed for the last month or two I truly cut back on my social media usage. Honestly I do not feel like I'm missing out on anything nor do I have the need to go on it for extended periods of time. I still feel connected to family and friends without social media.
