  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Spend Time Outside
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

    Crystal Brown's avatar
    Crystal Brown 11/30/2020 9:59 PM
I would not necessarily says this rings true for me. I think cultures that spend most of their time indoors implicated people who are too attached to their television, phones, gaming system and computers to get out and take a second to enjoy the world around them. Inside will always be there but the outside might not always be. COVID-19 has taught us that if not anything else
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
Father Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?

    Crystal Brown's avatar
    Crystal Brown 11/30/2020 9:56 PM
I feel as if Berry is trying to saying that with ever sunset and dawn you should celebrate and enjoy everything that is around you. For every new day brings growth and new energy

I can not believe today is the last day for the challenge. I definitely feel like this challenge has made me more aware during my life habits and the impact it puts on the Earth
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Organize a Course
How can you use Ecochallenge.org programs to help mobilize your community to take action toward a sustainable future?

    Crystal Brown's avatar
    Crystal Brown 11/30/2020 9:48 PM
Ecochallenge.org has so many useful tools to help educate and get you started to create your own goals outside of the website. I would use to make a more sustainable future by starting with how much water we waste everyday. That seems to be the biggest problem I see across the board
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Joyful Movement
What's your favorite activity(ies) in which you experience joy while being active and moving?

Dancing with my daughter. She throughly enjoys dancing like I do so it makes every minute so worth the smile on both of our faces
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Limit Social Media
Social media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also create echo chambers and take more time than we realize or intend to give. After completing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?

    Crystal Brown's avatar
    Crystal Brown 11/07/2020 12:58 AM
I have noticed for the last month or two I truly cut back on my social media usage. Honestly I do not feel like I'm missing out on anything nor do I have the need to go on it for extended periods of time. I still feel connected to family and friends without social media.
