  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Building Resilience Support Businesses Owned by People of Color
A recent Keen Independent Research Foundation study found that Minority Businesses Enterprises (MBEs) are more likely to have difficulties in receiving loans or city contracts. In what ways can you work to address systemic racism like that demonstrated in this study?

I can work towards advocating for individuals of color and addressing racism when I see it and attempt to educate other individuals. We all can make an impact.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Building Resilience Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Prevent Recycling Contamination
What have you learned about what is accepted by local haulers for recycling, what you can drop off or ship to certain places, and what is not recyclable in your area? What is the most difficult part of recycling for you?

    Liz Campos Chairez's avatar
Liz Campos Chairez 4/08/2021 10:50 PM
Some of the things that I have learned include that the following can be recycled: common engine oil, lead-acid car and truck batteries, types 1-7 plastics, tins and bi-metal cans (rinsed out), car tires, etc. Some of the things that cannot be recycled include aluminum foil, tv dinner trays, window glass, light bulbs, tv tubes, drinking glass, etc. The most difficult part of recycling for me is remembering what cannot be recycled.
