To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity MeditateWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
Jacob Cosentino 4/03/2021 4:43 PMUsually when I meditate I try and subtract all thought from my mind and focus solely on breathing instead of reflecting upon things. -
Jacob Cosentino 4/03/2021 4:40 PMGot to use my first compost bin today, I composted the core of an apple I was snacking on -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Carry my TrashWhat one thing could you do right away to reduce your waste?
Jacob Cosentino 4/01/2021 1:15 PMOne thing that I can do to reduce waste is to purchase more eco-friendly packaged food from market places instead of using my meal points to buy food on campus. It disgusts me the amount of waste that is created from ordering at any of the restaurants on campus. I do always bring my own bag when going to the Red Zone so I don't waste extra plastic by getting a new bag each time. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Stay on the GroundWhat was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?
Jacob Cosentino 4/01/2021 1:12 PMI mean I'm not quite sure if this is actually better for the environment or not, but this upcoming summer I'm carpooling to North Carolina in lou of flying so I'm still avoiding air travel. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Jacob Cosentino 4/01/2021 1:10 PMWhen I found out that the fires in the Amazon rainforest were manmade to make space to grow cattle it disgusted me to the point that I didn't eat beef for a year. After doing more research I learned of countless other reasons that eating meat harms the environment, so I try my best to consume only 1 meal a day that contains meat and have the rest be vegetarian. -
Jacob Cosentino 4/01/2021 1:02 PMJust peed outside to save water lol -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Tend a GardenHave you ever had a significant experience in nature that altered your perspective or focus? If so, please describe it.
Jacob Cosentino 4/01/2021 12:59 PMI have always loved growing plants, and I plant a new garden every spring. There's something so fulfilling about eating the fruit that you grew yourself (it also tastes better). -
Jacob Cosentino 3/30/2021 2:26 PMI washed out some dirty used plastic containers and recycled them -
