REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Improve a Bus StopIn what ways can you advocate for transportation systems which minimize environmental impact while also meeting human needs?
Eliza DeAngelis 11/25/2018 11:09 PMI can say many positive things about public transportation versus cars and explain how there are many pros of it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Join An Outdoor ProjectHow well do you know the area you stay in -- whether your hometown or your campus community? In what ways is a deep knowledge of your surroundings -- known as a 'sense of place' -- important to you?
Eliza DeAngelis 11/25/2018 11:09 PMI do not know the area that well, it is not too important to me because I am still learning and will get to know my surroundings more over time. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Volunteer in my CommunityWhat is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?
Eliza DeAngelis 11/25/2018 11:07 PMI can educate and inspire people in my community to become more sustainable because some are uneducated and ignorant to lots of these issues. -
Eliza DeAngelis 11/24/2018 9:45 PMI chose these challenges because they were important for the environment and a change. -
Eliza DeAngelis 11/24/2018 12:11 AMMy challenge is going well. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Compost Food WasteNew to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?
Eliza DeAngelis 11/24/2018 12:10 AMI am trying to toss a lot less, so I try to eat most of my food. I know my compost will be used to grow plants, and I know it is beneficial because it adds nutrients to the soil. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Personal Waste AuditWhy is it so difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places? How might your experience with this challenge impact your future consumption and choices?
Eliza DeAngelis 11/24/2018 12:09 AMIts so difficult because many are unaware and grew up their whole lives thinking nothing is wrong, so they may be shocked and even in denial that there are negative impacts our purchases have on other things. My experience with this challenge will make me more aware and make me buy less materialistic things. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Brush My Teeth Without Running WaterWhat is the main water source in your region? If you don't know, how could you find out?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Learn More and AdvocateHow do the differences in access to reliable transportation affect your community? What would you like to see change?
Eliza DeAngelis 11/24/2018 12:06 AMIt made me want to use cars so much more, it was so easy, just long. I never taken the bus before coming here but now that is all I use and I will use it as I can when I get back home. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Eliza DeAngelis 11/21/2018 9:42 PMI can incorporate spending time in nature into my exercise routine by going on more hikes and walking outside, and going to the beach and swimming, I enjoy that and it is better to be outside anyway.
