  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health Learn About Local Environmental Justice Concerns
Who is most affected by environmental degration and/or environmental irresponsiblity in your community? How are they affected?

    Fiona Dingal's avatar
    Fiona Dingal 4/15/2022 3:22 AM
I think it would be the seniors and the infants in my area and it's highly possible some people in my community are also suffering from diseases. Don't forget the workers too who have to stay outside. And of course, who can forget the people who are in poverty. They are affected ( and soon to be the whole world if we don't do anything about it)  by the fact that their human behavior is changed because they are constantly struggling for resources like food, water shelter.

To what extent do environmental factors contribute to your own health or issues with health?

    Fiona Dingal's avatar
    Fiona Dingal 4/15/2022 3:10 AM
Some environmental factors can become environmental issues. Especially pollutants can affect our health.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What environmental factors affect human health in your region, and how do they affect it?

    Fiona Dingal's avatar
    Fiona Dingal 4/15/2022 2:57 AM
There is a massive amount of air pollution in Manila. And it doesn't help how populated it is. Something I sadly see often through the windows of the car is jeepneys with black smoke coming out of the engine. Much worse if you decide just to take a stroll on the sidewalk. It makes your eyes itchy and accidentally inhaling is so sickening. Usually resulting in coughing and wheezing.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Take a moment to think of places you frequent often (school, work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

    Fiona Dingal's avatar
    Fiona Dingal 4/15/2022 2:45 AM
I frequently go to my school for classes. I wouldn't mind actually driving my classmates to school every day of the week.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Know My health
How do you deal with the physical and emotional stress of the big problems we face? How can you help others cope?

    Fiona Dingal's avatar
    Fiona Dingal 4/15/2022 2:33 AM
There are so many problems going on and sometimes I feel like can't do anything to change that. Like a useless spec. But I keep going no matter how little the change I do, no matter how difficult. I help myself and others cope by reminding them that this is for the better. It's for us and most importantly the future generation. They deserve way better than to live in a wasteland caused by their ancestors.

What does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for that vision to become reality?

    Fiona Dingal's avatar
    Fiona Dingal 4/15/2022 2:13 AM
For me it's a reliable technology, everyone has access to goods, services, basic rights ( not just rich people)  and lastly removing the nature loss that happened over the years. The thing that needs to be changed to achieve this is global contribution everyone needs to cooperate. But for now, just be minful! think green in everything you do! Help and teach people the right thing and stop the bad habits! stop the cycle!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Go by Bike
How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience differ while walking, riding transit, biking, or driving?

    Fiona Dingal's avatar
    Fiona Dingal 4/15/2022 1:54 AM
If I continue to use cars and planes especially when unnecessary, I increase my carbon footprint. Thus, contributing to global warming. My experience does start to differ when I just walk or use a bike, for example walking is more cost-efficient for me compared to driving. Now I would only recommend driving for very long distances.
